ASCENT Management is led by Pamela N. Valenzuela, a certified association executive, an accredited public relations practitioner, and president/managing partner of ASCENT Management LLC, offers more than 25 years of experience in association management, strategic development, marketing & sales, non-dues revenue generation, membership retention & development, public relations, event management, and budget development and operations.

Prior to starting ASCENT Management, LLC, Pam served in senior positions with both national and state associations in the agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and construction industries. Additionally, Pam brings an understanding of the for-profit world having worked for a publishing company (Cahners Publishing/Reed, Inc.) and a trade show management company (National Trade Productions, Inc.), as well as consulting to high technology, environmental, law enforcement, arts and sports organizations.

A believer in leadership and participation in her own professional organizations, Pam is a long-time active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), where she most recently served on the Small Staff Association Committee. From 2008 to mid-2010, she served on the ASAE AMC Section Council, where she developed a one-day seminar to improve operations of new association management companies (AMC) and contributed to the section newsletter. She also is active in the AMC Institute having served as co-chair of the Membership Task Force, and co-chair of the Meetings Task Force, as well as a member of the Leadership Development Task Force and the Best Practices Committee.

Pam has been honored by the former Greater Washington Society of Association Executives with the “Most Valuable Player” award, and from ASAE an Outstanding Marketing Award. Honors from ASAE, GWSAE, Association Trends, and the Cooperative Communicators Association are displayed proudly in her office.

Pam has a Bachelor’s of Science in Journalism/Public Relations from the University of Florida, with a minor in architecture. She was instrumental in the development of the ASAE Immersion CAE Study Course, which turned a 14-week night course into a three-day intensive course, which has been very positively received by the association community.
